Carrickmacross Town Council

Carrickmacross Town Council, which is made up of 9 elected members, employs an outdoor staff of 10, an administrative staff of six, two School Wardens a Traffic/Litter Warden and two Engineering Staff.  The Local Authority in Carrickmacross is responsible for matters relating to housing, roads, parks and open spaces, planning and other miscellaneous services in the Town.

Carrickmacross Sewerage Scheme - Works Programme

Carrickmacross Sewerage Scheme – Works Programme - March & April, 2010

Crew 1:  Cloughvalley Estate  - Works are continuing at Cloughvalley for the laying of sewer & storm water main.  Work in the area should be completed by the end of March, 2010.  Works in respect of connections and reinstatement will then commence at Church Grove for approximately 12 days.

Crew 2 :  Mullanarry RoadAfter the completion of reinstatement and connections at Drumcondrath road this crew move onto Mullanarry road for the laying of sewer and water mains.  When work has reached Global Tyres another crew (Crew 4) will be assigned to this area. A full road closure is currently in place. Work will be carried out in sections and alternative routes will be available in most areas.

Crew 3 : Mullanarry Street – works will be complete in this area first week of March and full reinstatement of the street will take place.  This crew will then move onto the Drumcondrath road to complete road crossing.  Other works included for this crew will be decompressing manholes and completing connections and reinstatement at Ardee Road.

Crew 5 :- Rockdaniel Roadafter completing chambers at Rockdaniel road this crew will also carry out minor works in other areas and will assist in Traffic Managing at Magheross road towards the end of March for the purpose of road re-surfacing.  Road reinstatement work will also be carried out Rockdaniel road, Oriel Road, Kingscourt road and Chapel Lane Lower.

Crews 6 Dundalk Road   – Directional drill will be set up in this location in early March for a small number of days.

Camera surveys & remediation works are on going.

Road Closures
The following are a list of road closures that are necessary to complete the above mentioned works.  These details are indicative and may be subject to change:-

  • Location              Dates (subject to change
    Mullanarry Road currently in place until the 9th of April, 2010.   
    Magheross Road To commence Mid March for 1 week to facilitate resurfacing from the junction of the Kingscourt road to entrance of Foxfield.
    O’Neill Street To commence after Easter Monday for a few days to re-surface area from Cross Street to junction with Dundalk road.
