Community - Carrickmacross Lions Club
See Twin(s) Parade on Nationwide
Lions Clubs International is the largest service organization in the world giving aid to disadvantaged people at home and abroad.
In April 2008 Monaghan Lions Club sponsored the setting up of a Lions Club in Carrickmacross.
Carrickmacross Lions Club (CLC) since its inception, thanks to the generous donations of the supporters of our fundraising events, has helped people in the local community suffering from physical and/or mental disadvantage. Approx. 1,000 pairs of used spectacles have been collected and forwarded to the Third World. We have plans to develop and expand our services in the future, finances permitting. Lions Motto is "We Serve"

Carrickmacross Lions Club Annual Charter Night (14th May 2010)
Paddy Gollogly, President of Carrickmacross Lions Club, wishes to sincerely thank everyone who generously
supported the event, helping make the evening a resounding success. Ticket sales and donations from the
night will go towards the ongoing cost of providing transport services for Alzheimer's sufferers to transfer
them to and from the Respite Day Care Centre at Threemilehouse, as no service currently exists for people in
the South Monaghan area. The service operates once a week and started on the 21st April 2010. The evening
kicked off with a wine reception followed by
a sumptuous 4 course meal. Entertainment afterwards was
provided by ‘Last Word’.
