HITEC is a local community group set up in the year 2000 to raise the awareness of computers and technology in the south Monaghan region with a view to improving the level of use of computers within business.

Our aim is four fold:

1. To facilitate business, to develop their use of computers and IT equipment through training and support.

2. To help the educational sector advance their capabilities from primary through secondary so that businesses will have access to a more skilled workforce.

3. To help community groups in the region develop projects with the use of computers and to offer support training.

4. To provide better access to computers for individuals around the town so that emailing becomes as handy as phoning.
