A NEWLY trained architect from County Cavan presented several precise scale models of Carrickmacross Main Street to Carrickmacross Town Council on Monday night. The models are now on display at the Council offices at the Old Fever Hospital. Gillian Brady from Belturbet made the fine scale architect’s models as part of her final thesis prior to her qualifying.

Gillian was introduced to the council by Town Mayor, PJ O’Hanlon who stated that Gillian was now a qualified architect. ‘Gillian has come here this evening to present these fine models to Carrickmacross Town Council and we thank her for it.’ The new architect then gave the councilors and administrative staff details of how she had gone about the creation of her fine model displays. Gillian explained that model also included fictional representations of other possible buildings which could be represented in the town centre such as a Medical centre to which the Mayor replied that this was apt and ‘very appropriate.’
