The Walking Tour of Carrickmacross aims to bring alive the vibrant history of the Town, including the Famine Times in the Workhouse, the two families who owned the town for many years: The Shirley Estate and the Bath Estate, and the War of Independence.
There are 14 points along the tour route, and our tour guides make the tour very enjoyable and interesting.
The tour takes approximately 1 hour.
There is no charge to take part in the tour. No booking is required, however numbers will be restricted due to health and safety. If you have a large group and would like to organise a private tour, please contact the Chamber of Commerce Secretary on email

The Tour commences from The Court House, Carrickmacross from 11am this Saturday and every Saturday Morning.
So why not get your walking shoes on and meet us on Saturday Morning. The Tour normally ends with warm cuppa in one of the fine Cafés or restaurants which Carrickmacross has to offer.
