SUDDEN WELLS & ELEPHANT
LIVE AT THE PATRICK KAVANAGH CENTRE, INNISKEEN

SUDDEN WELLS
Sudden Wells is a new musical project led by composer and songwriter Michael Gallen, formerly the lead singer with Irish band Ana Gog. The project brings together some of Ireland’s leading musicians – Caimin Gilmore (Sun Collective/Crash Ensemble), Patrick O’Laoghaire (I Have a Tribe) and Matthew Jacobson (ReDiviDeR) – creating an atmospheric collective sound that merges an intimate, lyrical quality with expansive musical arrangements. The group recorded its debut album at Killyon Manor in June 2021, with a release and touring planned for Spring of 2022.
ELEPHANT
Elephant, the musical vehicle of Dundalk based multi-instrumentalist Shane Clarke has, over its brief five year life, bounced around the hallways of avant-garde folk, synth pop, soft rock all the way to Eno inspired 80’s gothic romance. A balancing act few artists could pull off without being questioned as to what exactly is their style? Yet Clarke has negotiated the arduous terrain by always staying true to his idea that an artist should just get out of the way and let the song become whatever it is meant to become… be that a trashy electronica tune, or a ghostly synth-wave number…never try to mold it into whats considered your genre, genre is a cage. Music is fluid. You are only as old as you feel. Shane Clarke turns 37 this year.

Lisa’s last release on the Rough Trade imprint River Lea, ‘Heard A Long Gone Song’ has garnered huge acclaim both at home and abroad. It was Choice Nominated has a 5/5 star review from the Guardian on release and a coveted ‘Best Folk Album of 2019’ from the same publication.
