Dementia Adviser Maeve Montgomery will help us understand Dementia and Brain Health
About this event
Maeve Montgomery is a Dementia Adviser with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Her Role is that of Dementia Adviser covering Cavan, Monaghan and LouthEducation: BA (1st Class Honours) in Community Development.Background: Maeve started working with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland in Sept 2002 as a Home Care Coordinator in Co Louth and worked with families in the community providing Care Workers to people with dementia in their own home. Maeve was appointed ‘Dementia Adviser’ in 2014 with responsibility for the Cavan/Monaghan regions. In 2017 her area increased to include Co Louth.The Dementia Adviser’s aim is to help people live well with dementia and to help people understand dementia and brain health. Our role is to support people as soon as possible after diagnosis and stay with them as they progress through the journey that is dementia. Maeve has worked with families who are living with dementia in their own homes for the last 19 years.
